Rapid Velocity Detection
When fraud happens, it strikes fast, often affecting many merchants at one time. Using the advanced MerchantGuard network access, the velocity of transactions from one user, one card holder, or one identity is measured and, if atypical, it is further scrutinized to determine the risk associated with a transaction from that source. If the risk factor is high, all merchants involved, regardless of their position in the chain of events, are back notified that they may have accepted a suspicious transaction.
