The MerchantGuard system works to counter all forms of online fraud. By testing a customer's viability using a battery of diagnostics, MerchantGuard is able to deliver a reliable score indicating relative fraud risk.
For example, we know that in many instances, online fraud starts with small dollar amounts and subsequently escalates. Often, similar products are purchased from different merchants with rapid succession. By using the MerchantGuard Velocity Detection module, which feeds from aggregate data from all of our customers, we are able to detect irregular behavior early and notify all merchants involved.
